Question: How many dogs does it take to change a light bulb?

Answer: Well – it depends on the dog…

GOLDEN RETRIEVER: The sun is shining, the day is young, we’ve got our whole lives ahead of us, and you’re inside worrying about a stupid burned out bulb?

BORDER COLLIE: Just one. And then I’ll replace any wiring that’s not up to code.

DACHSHUND: You know I can’t reach that stupid lamp!

ROTTWEILER: Make me.

LAB: Oh, me, me!!!! Pleeeeeeze let me change the light bulb! Can I? Can I? Huh? Huh? Huh? Can I?

TIBETAN TERRIER:Let the Border Collie do it. You can feed me while he’s busy!

JACK RUSSELL TERRIER: I’ll just pop it in while I’m bouncing off the walls and furniture.

POODLE: I’ll just blow in the Border Collie’s ear and he’ll do it. By the time he finishes rewiring the house, my nails will be dry.

GERMAN SHEPHERD: I’ll change it as soon as I’ve led these people from the dark , checked to make sure I haven’t missed any, and make just one more perimeter patrol to see that no one has tried to take advantage of the situation.

COCKER SPANIEL: Why change it? I can still pee on the carpet in the dark.

DOBERMAN: While it’s dark, I’m going to sleep on the couch.

BOXER: Who cares? I can still play with my squeaky toys in the dark……

CHIHUAHUA: Yo quiero Taco Bulb.

IRISH WOLFHOUND: Can somebody else do it? I’ve got this hangover….

POINTER: I see it, there it is, there it is, right there….

GREYHOUND: It isn’t moving. Who cares?

YORKSHIRE TERRIER: I’m over qualified, have the boxer do it!

AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD: First, I’ll put all the light bulbs in a little circle..

OLD ENGLISH SHEEP DOG: Light bulb? I’m sorry, but I don’t see a light bulb?

HOUND DOG: ZZZZZZzzzzz.z.z.z..z..z..z…z

SCHNAUZER: Bark bark bark. Mom, the lightbulb is out…bark bark bark bark…MOM! I said the lightbulb is out! Bark bark bark bark bark…MOM!!! WHAT PART OF THAT DIDN’T YOU HEAR? I MEAN HELLO????

Some dogs can get bored easily. While other dogs are content on sleeping the entire day and others get lonely.

Many of us work all day leaving dogs home alone. While from the owner’s point of view might be an ideal home for their dog/s, the plush rugs, elegant furnitures, and stylish decor, but many dogs could careless such environmental refinement and would by far prefer to be socializing with people or other dogs, or chasing a blowing leaf outside.

“Type-B” personality dogs may nap during their owners’ absence, arising lazily with a yawn and stretch upon their return.

While the more compulsive “Type-A” dogs may suffer extreme boredom and stress during their owners’ absence. The telltale signs are easy to see: the garbage can contents may be strewn across the floor, cupboard doors opened, food stores raided, paper or pillows shredded, and so on.

So what can you do to keep your dog occupied?

Consider a Dog Walker or Doggie Day Care. Most dogs really appreciate the lunchtime visits of a dog walker who provides a much welcome respite in the middle of an otherwise long day of nothing to do. One better than a dog walker is doggy day care. The problem here is that it is expensive and thus probably only available to yuppie puppies. Check out the day care center thoroughly as you would kiddy day care for young children.

Get another pooch is another option to keep your pal company. A cat can also be a companion (depending on the dog). It just may take a little longer getting used to.

Food Puzzles and Games. Most people have developed the habit of feeding their dog before they leave in the morning. The dog wolfs down his food and then has nothing to do all day. It may be more appropriate to feed the dog as you leave and/or to arrange for the food to be discovered by the dog after you have left. “A tired dog is a good dog.” You could also say, a happy dog. Exercise generates serotonin in the brain and thus has a calming and mood-stabilizing effect on man and beast. A dog that has had a good run for 20 to 30 minutes before the owner departs will be less anxious, more composed, and prepared for a little R & R in the form of a good nap.

As Mojo approaches adulthood, his puberty hormones’ shooting off the roof at 7 months old. Took me quite a while debating whether or not to fix him. And now, Even after neutered, his frequecy of violating the stuffed animals around the house if not increased, remained the same. I thought by neutering, it will not only give him a long healthy life, but at the same time calm his libido. But, doesn’t seem a bit like he was ever neutered. After his ping pongs’re remove, seems like there’s a 3rd or 4th ball hidden somewhere. It so happened that I discovered the Hotdoll. Ha, I don’t know if I should replace the stuffed animals, But sure is a topic starter when my friends are over and being humped by Mojo..

The winner of 2008’s World’s Ugliest Dog Contest is won by a hairless Chinese crested canine named Gus, who lost a leg to a skin tumor and had an eye taken out by a tomcat during a fight. His owner, Jeanenne Teed, brought Gus all the way from St. Petersburg, Fla., to compete at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Northern California.

Doggie Beach

After couple of weeks of hoping and wishing, Mojo finally got to goto the beach. It was his first time. And it’s not just any beach, but a beach just for dogs!! It’s the Dog Beach at Huntington Beach, CA. He had a blast there with his buddies Chubby the schnauzer with Peter and Jane. Mojo also had alot of fun with new friends he met at the beach. I think we’re all going back next weekend!

Mojo is 5 months old now and starting his teething stage I believe. I noticed his gums are inflamed and bleeding in some areas and some teeth are missing. And chewing wooden sticks when he’s in the back yard. According to my vet, this is the time. This is the time that puppies will chew to alleviate as much discomfort as they can. And here are some thing that you can give them to alleviate their teething discomfort:

Ice
Frozen fruits and vegetables such as carrots, strawberries, apples, sweet potatoes, etc.
Puppy teething toys at pet stores
